If that ever changes, this page changes with it, and the article in question will say so at the top rather than burying it.

What a commission does not buy

A commission does not buy a recommendation. Most of what gets covered here is free, open-source software with no affiliate program attached, which should tell you how much of this site is driven by that side of things.

When hardware does come up, the article says who actually needs it and who should save their money. A recommendation that tells you not to buy something is worth more than one that tells everybody to buy everything, and it is the only way a site like this keeps being useful.
